Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation![]() The ultimate goal of the Tomorrows Children's Fund is to find a cure for childhood cancer. It's as simple as that. But, along the way, towards that end, so many incredible things have happened to assist us in the care of our young patients and their families. When the Tomorrows Children's Fund was founded 18 years ago, it fulfilled the dream of loving parents who desired the best for their children fighting cancer or a serious blood disorder. With the dedication and support of devoted friends, the foundation has evolved into a magnificent program nothing short of a miracle. The real miracle lies in all of the people who have nurtured our program from its humble beginnings in 1982 through its evolution into the world class program that it is today. Our partnership with Hackensack University Medical Center in 1987 provided our children with state-of-the-art care in a bright, modern and home-like facility. As our program developed and patient census increased, we quickly outgrew our out-patient treatment area. In May of 1994, the doors opened to the DON IMUS-WFAN Pediatric Center for Tomorrows Children. This facility provides the finest in out-patient programs and services for patients and families alike. This treatment area and our 12-bed inpatient unit constitute one of the largest and most comprehensive programs in the state for children with cancer or a serious blood disorder. We have been designated as the only state-named pediatric bone marrow transplant unit in New Jersey. Our program has increased to include a wide array of psychological, creative art/child life and social services that are critical to the care and treatment of our patients. Although we are proud to have contributed to the successful treatment of these children, we dare not rest on our laurels. We must look to the future and plan for this new millenniuim. Cancer remains second only to accidents as the leading cause of death in children. We must do better. We must find ways through research on how best to cure a greater percentage of children. The Tomorrows Children's Fund is proud of it's accomplishments -- goals that we have met because of people like you. You have helped to provide a vision for the future that has become a beacon of hope to all of the young patients who enter the doors of Tomorrows Children.
